Emergency Services

Serving the people of Lee, Scott and Wise Counties and the City of Norton

Emergency Services
Crisis intervention and referral services consist of an experienced team of clinicians available to provide 24-hour crisis response. Emergency services are provided when an individual is experiencing an acute mental health emergency and needs assistance in maintaining their overall well-being. Emergency service may result in a referral to outpatient services, inpatient care, or another service provider. Services are provided face to face and through various video conferencing platforms.

Services are provided 24 hours per day, seven days per week, and may be scheduled or unscheduled. Services are provided in Lee, Scott, and Wise County behavioral health facilities, local hospitals, law enforcement agencies, and at times at the individual’s home.

Crisis Intervention Therapeutic Assessment Center (CITAC)
The Center offers Crisis Assessment and Evaluation services for adults (18+). The goal is to safely provide a therapeutic environment for individuals who come into contact with law enforcement and are in the midst of a mental health crisis and/or experiencing substance abuse issues. Individuals served receive an assessment of their needs in a clinical setting in order to determine the appropriate level of care as determined by an Emergency Services Clinician. The Center serves Wise, Lee, and Scott Counties and the City of Norton and is open 12 noon to 12 midnight, 365 days a year.
